Haddi Movie Review: Nawazuddin’s fierce collision with Anurag Kashyap burning in the fire of revenge, the story took away the soul of ‘Haddi’

Haddi Review in Hindi: The pair of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap, working together in many films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, Sacred Games, has given the audience a very different kind of cinema. This pair is once again seen together in the film ‘Haddi’, but the difference is that this time Anurag is not directing Nawaz but is seen as a villain in front of him. Nawaz is seen in the avatar of a transgender for the first time in ‘Haddi’. There have been many films in Hindi cinema showing the pain and sufferings of transgenders, but ‘Haddi’ is different in many ways. This film presents the world of crime in Delhi-Noida in a bare avatar amidst the world of transgenders.

What does the story say: The story of Haddi is about Haddi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who came to Delhi from Allahabad, a transgender, who comes here and joins a gang. Explaining the meaning of his name, the bone says in a dialogue in a very simple way, ‘I was lynched in childhood, I was hanged with a noose but there was no bone around my neck, so the noose slipped’. Haddi joins this gang to take revenge on the criminal politician Pramod Ahlawat (Anurag Kashyap) who is running a heinous crime under the guise of politics. This film is the story of this revenge.

Nawaz is seen as a transgender in this film.

This film by directors Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla is bringing a serious and intriguing subject to the screen. This film brings to the fore the business related to the missing dead bodies, about which the soul trembles on hearing about. For the first half hour of this film of 2 hours 14 minutes, you will have a lot of difficulty in understanding the story. To maintain the suspense of the story, the director has kept that crime hidden till the end, around which the story revolves from the very first scene. In such a situation, the question arises again and again that what is business after all? The second problem is that in the climax of the story, Nawaz, who has become a bone, is hit by many bullets, but after all, how he survived, from where he reached there in a few months, all these things have not been bothered to tell.

Anurag Kashyap has directed Nawaz in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.

The best thing about the film ‘Haddi’ is its performance which will not disappoint you at all, but the emotion on which this whole story has been created at the center, may not be able to reach the audience with that much intensity. Nawaz is that artist, who has breathed life into very cold scripts with his excellent acting. His acting in Bone is of a different level. In the character of a transgender, he has been so comfortable and accurate that you start trusting his character. In such a situation, even if you stay connected with the story on the basis of performance, the story’s charm cannot be ignored.

This look of Nawazuddin has created a lot of enthusiasm among the audience.

Anurag Kashyap, who has shifted from director to actor’s chair, has tried to put a touch of comedy in his dreaded villain avatar, but his style reminds you of actor Prakash Raj again and again. Vipin Sharma is only in a few scenes, but he leaves a strong impact in them too. The same should also be said about Ila Arun who has made a wonderful impact in just a few scenes. Ella is the only female actress in the entire cast of Bone, whom you will see on screen.

If the music of the film is good then it supports the story completely. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s film ‘Haddi’ is such a film, which has been decorated a lot by the performance, but if the story had supported it, it could have been a great film. 2.5 stars to this film from my side.
